Last days of July

I caught a Summer cold and feel like crap. Third day this week. ugh. Really hating it. Today on top of it all we had an all day training at work. Hardest thing to sit through with a foggy brain. Great training though and lots to think about and learn. Afterwards I was walking around the office and I broke my shoe. Super bad luck. I had to limp around for the rest of the day.
So glad that tomorrow is Thursday; looking forward to a weekend. Hopefully to rest and catch up on all that has gone by the wayside because of this cold. Believe me there is plenty to do.
I want to congratulate my Mom... she signed the papers this week that make the sale of her salon final. I remember the Summer that she opened the doors; and I am just as proud of her today. It was 1991 I was in middle school and she opened two blocks from the house. When I finally got my license we were able to share the car because she walked to work. I remember going there the day of my wedding to get my hair done, sitting there playing with my niece and nephews while my sister got her hair done, bringing my hubby there to get his head shaved... There are so many memories all good and now this change will allow my Mom more freedom and peace of mind about her work. She has worked so hard and for so long.... she deserves it. Love you Mom, can't wait to come and visit the new digs to get my hair done; I need an appointment.

Extravaganza!!!

It's that time again...tomorrow is EXTRAVAGANZA!!!! The only difference is the hubster is away and I have to host the party on my own. I'm a little overwhelmed considering the man left a mess before he left, although he did do some chores that I did not want to have to deal with so I thank him for that... I've been busy every night this week with work out and finally tonight I am home to clean, organize, shop, cook (or at least plan the menu) and of course relax from a long hard week. Last year I was able to take Friday off and let me tell you how much work there still was to do.
Anywhooo... if you're around and looking for some fun, fireworks and food c'mon over!!!

Back to Bizness

It has been a SUPER busy couple of weeks... this post was from 4th weekend...
What a GREAT long weekend. The hubster and I have been looking forward to this past weekend for months. It was a couple of months ago that we realized that P-Town was not an option this year... for several reasons. Sad that we wouldn't be able to spend that long awaited week with our favorite vaca couple so... we went to my favorite city North of here to visit them on their turf. Portland, ME has been a fav of mine since freshmen year of college when I made my first trek up there to see Judy. This weekend was no different. Yummy star cakes, Old Port, great fireworks over the bay, good friends and good times, a tattoo for the hubster (another Portland tradition) and a fun trek to Ogunquit. Can't believe that it's over. How was your 4th?

101 posts/ July

2 things to discuss:
July is here and that is all there is to say. It is hot, humid and the days are long. I love it! It is really hard though to be in the office all day with no dreams of a vacation in mind. This is the first summer in my professional life that we are NOT taking a vacation. Various reasons have helped us to this conclusion and none are terrible. It is so hard... harder than I expected it to be. I think dreaming of vacation is what helps get through the summer and then of course when you return it is with renewed vigor and strength that fuel you through to Fall. Oh well... I will have to take the weekends much more seriously.
101 posts
Can you believe it? I assume that if you are reading... you can in fact believe it. I never thought that I would be a "blogger" but here I am putting my thoughts out there for all to see. I miss when I don't post. I love the comments... and most of all I love catching up on other peeps with their blogs. Nina and Grace are interviewing and I can hear all the giggles between them, Ali and the kids are frog hunting and I can hear brave T's voice telling M all about it. The one little one is always having amazing family adventures and the true story is meeting new babies and having parents over to visit. Ahh... there is so much love out there in the ordinary. I'm reading, even when I can't find a minute to post.
thanks all
love you
