MEME

In case you've missed me... here is a meme that I found.

1. A song/band/type of music you'd risk wreck & injury to turn off when it comes on the radio?
That rap that is all about bitches and hoes... yeah I HATE that.

2. Best show on television?
Brothers and Sisters, I so wish that was my family... maybe. And How I Met Your Mother... that one makes me laugh, and I love to laugh.

3. Favorite movie?
There are lots but 50 First Dates, ranks up there. It is so sweet and innocent and kinda dark at the same time.

4. Favorite room in your house?
Kitchen. For some reason I always end up there. Even when we have a part with 50 people, everyone is crammed in the kitchen.

5. Best concert?
Madonna with my sister. It was too fun for both of us. We got great seats, we sang every song, it was our first Madonna experience together.

6. Brass or strings?
Gosh, both?

7. If you could have anything put on a t-shirt what would it be?
I just came up with this one the other day... Leave me the f*ck alone! (asterisk and all).

8. The best part about being your age?
I don't really feel like I have to compete anymore. I like that it's not alot of firsts anymore. And best of all I don't really have to ask permission for anything.

9. Favorite Girl Scout cookie?
Frozen thin mints or peanut butter ones dipped in chocolate. yum.

10. Poker or gin or bridge?
Gin, I’d say, just because I don’t know how to play poker or bridge.

11. Shower or bath?
Shower. Baths are good every once in a while, but I can’t stand my wet knees poking out of the water.

12. Favorite pajamas?
Booty shorts and a tank top or none at all.

13. Nightmare job?
Customer Service Rep. People think they can talk to you however they want, even if they called you for help.

14. A talent you wish you had?
Bake really yummy desserts and paint.

15. Dream vacation?
Anywhere with my man... somewhere that has it all, good food, sun, history...

16. What’s on your nightstand?
Earrings, books, notebooks, alarm clock, and a thermometer (even though I see it every night I never put it away).

Funny how I always put two answers even though it asks for one.

Ciao

Graduations, Birthdays, Days to relax

There has been so much to do lately.
Last Sunday I was able to celebrate the birthday of my best friend.
L- you are such an amazing person. Celebrating your birth day is something that I do every time I pick up the phone to call you, text or email you. I love you like a sister, like a sister-wife, like a very best friend. You are the person that I call to tell about the good days, the bad days and the days that are just ho hum. I a glad that you are here and a part of my everyday! Love you... xoxo
Bro- Congratulations! Like I said last night no one cares how long it took to get the degree and you never have to list how long it took, but you do get to list the honors that you received. I am so proud of you, you are an inspiration to me, your family and every single person you come in to contact with. Going back to school is not easy and any other person might have given up, deciding that the work was not worth the degree, but you now know that feeling and I'm sure the work was worth it. Take a break and go backpack Europe for a year like any other grad.
So that brings me to today... my day to relax. The first day in WEEKS that I have no plans. I even tried to make some last night to no avail. :) I'm happy... really I am...but I am the sort of person that likes to fill up the empty times not just sit with them. Maybe I have a problem that I can't enjoy down time, my husband would whole heartily agree with that statement. He said as he was leaving the house this morning, "Please relax and don't do anything today!" Little does he know that not doing anything is not really relaxing to me. (I know I'm gonna really regret saying this... but) Cleaning and being busy IS relaxing to me. So I'm off to vacuum and sweep and wash and stuff. Maybe figure out what the hell is wrong with my phone.

PS.. just to clarify... shopping is being busy... hence relaxing! :)

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! Why this day comes only once a year I will never understand... this day needs to come at least 40 times a year! Right? Mother's pick us up when we are down. Give us the perfect piece of advice, even when we didn't ask for it. Mother's are there for the good times but are also there for the rough times and convince us that there are better days.
Mom- I love you so very much. You really are my BEST friend. When something happens, good or bad it is to you I turn for the truth. Everyone else just seems to say what they think I want to hear (even though I need that too!) you are there to say what I am already thinking. Tis true we don't need this day to celebrate you, because everyday is a day that I celebrate you. Let's just consider today, the icing. Ti Amo.
S- Today is also a day that I celebrate you. My second mother... the person that is generally on the "other line" while I am talking to Mom. Thank you for being there for me and wanting to be there for me. Love you.
To all the mother's in my life... Diane, Ali, Tina, Nina, Sara, Zia, Judy (soon), HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! To everyone else... CALL YOUR MOTHER! :)

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday...

It is one of those days that I wish would never end. IT is really nice out, the sun shining, the wind blowing.... I got to hang with the family a bit this morning and now I am home relaxing. I went to see FIRE last night at the Wadsworth. It was visually stunning and really fun. Jaycuess was in it and stole the show. It is the 3rd year of four years of this show...1st year was Whoosh and last year was drop. Next year's theme will be earth.
So I forgot to update that I got my group exercise certification... I'm official. So glad that is over. Not much else to update... since yesterday.
Enjoy the day, have a great week, month, Spring, year... all of it.
ciao

Happy Birthday Sister

Hi. You are my sister, my confidant, my hero, my best friend, someone that I brag about to just about everyone I know. Today is your birthday and so today I celebrate you.
When I was young I always wanted to be older than you or at least older than me. Not so that I could tell you what to do, as I used to say, but just so that I could be with you. I don't blame you for not wanting necessarily to hang out with me, your little sister but I adored you and it is no surprise that I still do.
In a perfect world we live next door to one another and share everything. But in this world we don't go more than a day or two without a phone call or email and that just has to be good enough. Thank you for the support, advice, laughs, tears and amazing family that you have made me an important part of. When I am with you I don't feel like we are two people necessarily but an extension of one another.
It hasn't always been hunky dory between us but it always will be.
I love you Subey.
